*Although individual risks will be
evaluated and rated based on a wide range of criteria including, but not
limited to your driving record, the basic driver qualification standards are as
follows:
Age 24
No major violation in the preceding 36 months
Three or less violations or one accident and one violation in the preceding 36
months
One violation in the preceding 12 months
Must have at least 3 years driving experience in the type of vehicle to be
insured
Age 25 or older
No major violation in the preceding 36 months
Four or less violations or one accident and two violations in the preceding 36
months
Two or less violations or one accident in the preceding 12 months
Must have at least 2 years driving experience in the type of vehicle to be
insured
Major violations include, but are not limited to:
Aggravated assault with a motor vehicle
Conviction of a false statement involving a drivers license application
Driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs (DWI or DUI)
Fleeing or eluding a police officer
Leaving the scene of an accident
Manslaughter resulting from the operation of a motor vehicle (gross negligence)
Operating a motor vehicle without the owner's authority (grand theft)
Operating a motor vehicle while under suspension or revocation
Permitting an unlicensed person to drive
Physical Control Intoxication
Racing or speed contest
Reckless driving
Refusing chemical test (implied consent)
Using a motor vehicle in the commission of a felony
Violation of a railroad crossing
